Hi, I'm Diana
I’m originally from the UK, and I’ve been immersed in the world of English language teaching since 1981 — a career spanning more than four decades of dedication, innovation and expertise. As well as the RSA Diploma in TEFLA, I have a Master’s in Teaching English to Young Learners from the University of York.
Since 1990, I’ve been proud to call International House Torres Vedras and International House Lisbon my professional home. I currently serve as Head of Training and Teacher Development, where I lead teacher development programmes, oversee curriculum innovation and exam administration, and manage our CELTA and DELTA courses.
I’m an experienced CELTA and DELTA tutor, as well as a course leader specialising in young learner teacher training. I design and deliver development and refresher courses for teachers working in state schools, private language schools and international schools, and I’m passionate about supporting educators at every stage of their careers.
Beyond teacher development, I work as a language and pedagogical consultant for a Portuguese coursebook publisher. Over the years, I’ve contributed to a range of educational projects, published articles on language teaching, and authored training materials for both International House and leading ELT publishers. I am also a regular speaker at the Associação Portuguesa de Professores de Inglês (APPI) Conferences.
When I’m not working, I love unwinding in my garden or getting absorbed in a challenging jigsaw or sudoku puzzle — I suppose I’ve always enjoyed nurturing growth, whether in people or plants!
